Monday Quote: There is something in the nature of tea | A Rose in Bloom
"There is something in the nature of tea that leads us into a world of quiet contemplation of life."
-Lin Yutang, The Importance of Living.

Ah, tea, the tried and true remedy for all illnesses. I do not have a long post today for the quote. I exhausted myself on a future post (stay tuned!), but I do want to take a few moments to really think about this quote, and try to apply it to your life this week.

Even the process of making tea is healing. Enjoy the sound the water as it runs into your kettle, the hiss of the kettle as it cries for your attention when it needs pouring.  Smell the leaves before adding them to the pot, enjoying them and letting them sink into your heart. Instantly calming. A good pot of tea is not rushed, but is made with focus and contemplation. Sip it with care, savoring the flavors and letting them warm you to the bone. Realize that the little things in life are beautiful.

  2. I can definitely agree that the short amount of time I get to spend with my cup of coffee in the morning is my favorite time of the day.
