Friday DO: Give Something Away
Friday, April 25, 2014I am sure you saw earlier this week when I mentioned going to Record Store Day! When we went back to our local record shop, CD Central, the next day, Roger and I could not help but notice that they had an overstock of the limited edition Childish Gambino LPs. Now, neither of us really know much about Childish Gambino, but what we did know was the many users on the vinyl subreddit had mentioned flippers had bought out their local shop's records before fans could get to them. And get had an idea. What if we bought these leftover Childish Gambino records, which were already flipping for $65 on eBay, and give them away? To people who truly wanted them and had deserved a fair chance. And that's exactly what we did.
Now, I am not telling you this story to make us sound like great people. It was not that great, we could only afford to do 4 records, but it made us happy to make someone else happy and I think you will find the same inside yourself. It doesn't have to be big, maybe your leftover lunch to a homeless person, or some cookies to your neighbor. It doesn't even have to cost money. Just give something away, for no reason at all.
